PROMINENT OREGON RESORT SUED FOR WIDESPREAD SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Nine former employees filed a lawsuit against their former Oregan employer, Black Butte Ranch. The suit seeks $13.5 Million in damages and alleges that the employees were subjected to sexual abuse and harassment by a former co-worker named Glenn Michael Woosley. Woosley has had multiple criminal convictions based on sexual abuse and harassment in the past. In 2022, he was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree and one count of harassment.
The Plaintiffs allege incidents of inappropriate touching and sexual remarks. The Plaintiffs accuse the employer of failing to protect employees from a hostile work environment, despite being aware of the misconduct. Employers must communicate and enforce strict policies against harassment. The plaintiffs assert that the employer should be held accountable for failing to act upon complaints and allowing Woosley to continue working in a position of power and influence.
